About

Karunya Nikethan

Founded in 2002, the Karunya Charitable Society (Reg: 914/2002) in Chengaloor, near Pudukkad in Thrissur District, was born from the compassionate vision of a group of zealous young men in our community. What began as simple evening gatherings to share thoughts and dreams soon grew into a heartfelt mission — to bring care, dignity, and hope to the mentally challenged who are often unwanted, unsupported, and left isolated from society. With unwavering dedication, these young men took the first steps by accompanying patients to mental health centers, arranging medical consultations, and providing essential medicines, all while ensuring they could remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. This humble beginning laid the foundation for a journey rooted in empathy, service, and the belief that every individual deserves love, respect, and a place to belong.
Vision & Mission

To reform and rehabilitate mentally challenged people of all ages, to educate Parents & Public in general of various methods to be adopted in order to accept & help these disabled persons and also to start vocational training program for mentally challenged persons
